Second World Cup win for Perrine and Geiger

Paralympian Mel Perrine and guide Christian Geiger have continued their strong preparation ahead of the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games, with a second Para Alpine World Cup gold medal for the season in Zagreb.
Perrine was able to bounce back on day two of the World Cup, after disappointing results on the opening day.
Coach and Guide Geiger said they needed to amend their game plan during the second day of competition on account of the tough conditions they faced.
“Today we had a relatively poor first run but still managed to be in the lead. The second run we adapted to the conditions as Mel was struggling with the weather and water on her goggles.
“So we decided to stick a bit closer together which made the difference and delivered the win,” he said.
While another gold medal for Perrine is a great boost two months out from the PyeongChang Games, she isn’t taking anything for granted.
“We’ve got some things we’re still working on. We’re really conscious that PyeongChang is still two months away so we have some time to hammer out the details.
“The skiing is there, we’re just working on our consistency now,” she said.
In orther results on day two, Mitch Gourley and Mark Soyer both picked up 7th places with Jonty O’Callaghan taking 15th. For full results – click here.
