Six young athletes were recently recognised as Emerging Talent at the Snow Australia Community Sport Awards.
Despite all competing in different disciplines, the six young guns all share one thing: their love for the sport
Mia Clift, who received the Emerging Talent Athlete Award for Snowboard Cross, says her love for snowsports came through a natural progression.

“I have lived at Mt Buller, with my family, every winter since I was four so that’s how I got my start,” Mia said.
“But now I just enjoy being with my friends, training hard and having fun!”
George Murphy, recipient for Mogul Skiing, echoed Mia’s comments, adding that the snowsports community is one that he feels is very special.

“I love the snowsports community that surrounds me, I’m always meeting new people and I really enjoy that,” George said.
All six athletes have big dreams for the future, but it was Alpine athlete Zoe Michael who’s ambitions may soon come to fruition.
“One of my biggest goals is to qualify for the Youth Olympic Games that are going to be held in Lausanne in January,” Zoe said.
“But after that, who knows, I’m hoping to take a gap year to focus on my skiing.”
