Skiers Send It At NSW/ACT Junior Series Mogul Championships

The next generation of mogul skiers ‘sent it’ over the weekend at the NSW/ACT Junior Series Mogul Championship at Perisher.
Despite some fog and low cloud cover on the first day of competition, the event went ahead without delays and a great weekend was had by all.
All competitors made it down the course, with some excellent skiing by the next generation of moguls athletes.
Competitors tested their skills on day one in the Singles event, before going head to head on day two in Dual Moguls.
U14 competitor Talia Manns took out both the Women’s Singles and Dual Moguls (U14) events and said she was very pleased with the runs she was able to put down.
“On Saturday for the singles, my competition tricks were a 360 and back X. As this was my first invert in a competition I was really happy to get a solid top to bottom run in,” Manns said.
“In the duals on Sunday my tricks were a twister spread on top air and a back X on bottom air.
“It felt awesome to take out the win for singles and duals as I knew my hard work with training had paid off.
“The best part was being able to experience the Junior Series with all the other girls that I train with at Perisher, they are such a fun group and we all support each other,” she said.
As well as the winners of the Singles and Dual Events (click here for day 1 results and click here for day 2 results), the winner of the Golden Post Box was also awarded.
The Golden Post Box is a unique award presented to the athlete who ‘Sends It’ with the biggest and most impressive air trick.
Young gun Callum Cook was awarded the Golden Post Box for his impressive on snow performances.
"I am honoured and extremely stoked to receive both gold medals for Singles and Duals and especially the Postbox!" Cook said.
"It is a real privilege to have received these awards and have my name engraved on the Postbox alongside so many inspirational Australian mogul legends who have gone on to achieve many things, including the Olympic Dream.
"I think the Junior Series is a great halfway point and introduction to the other bigger courses and competitions around the world. It is helpful in training competitors to deal with the competition standards and pressure; including mastering the ski out," he said.
