Snow Australia Alpine Ski Team for 2021/22 announced

Snow Australia National Alpine Committee (NAC) is pleased to announce the 2021/22 National Alpine Ski Team (NAST).

The team is made up of 15 athletes across alpine and ski cross disciplines, with nine male and six female athletes. Snow Australia Alpine Director Shawn Fleming said that the NAC unanimously decided that all NAST athletes from the previous season would remain named for 2021/22.

“We made this decision due to the COVID-19 situation and the limited number of opportunities many of our NAST athletes had to compete last year, both domestically and internationally,” he said.

The Committee’s decision is aligned with the FIS decision to protect all athletes FIS points from 2020/21 by increasing the window across the previous two seasons. It also supports Snow Australia national strategy in recognising that time is an important factor in an athlete’s holistic skills development process.

The NAC was very pleased to announce the addition of Harry Hoffman to the team, with the 17-year-old from Sydney the only new face on the NAST for next season.

“Harry was able to race in the US and achieve promising results in his first year of FIS racing both in GS and SL,” Fleming said.

“We would like to welcome Harry to the team and take this time to recognize all the NAST athletes.

“We wish them all the best in their training and competition over the coming year,” he said.
