The Snow Australia Board held its 195th meeting at the Snow Australia offices on Monday December 2nd. Below is a summary of the key outcomes and decisions made at the meeting:

NSTC Operational Review

  • Recruitment underway for a full-time Park Operations Supervisor and will also look to appoint a part-time assistant.
  • Nicole Parks appointed as NSTC Programs Coordinator to improve community engagement and streamline scheduling and program operations.
  • Continually working to improve facility safety with improved reporting and incident tracking.

Finance Risk and Governance

  • The annual audit has begun with the majority of work to be completed prior to Christmas.
  • Annual General Meeting to be held on March 6th, 2025

Reports

  • The board noted the 2024 Interschools Survey Report and summary which captured the communities feedback on the northern interschools events.
  • The Board were provided with an update from OWIA CEO Geoff Lipshut and Snow Australia General Manager of Sport Ben Wordsworth on 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Team preparations with the qualification period beginning this season.
  • Snow Australia Director and Chair of the Snow Australia Athlete’s Commission provided an update on the composition of the Commission following changes to the National Discipline Committees. The Athlete Commission Bylaws will also be reviewed and updated.

Governance

  • The board conducted their annual review of board skills matrix and approved the 2025 meeting calendar.
  • Ongoing updates to the Director Code of Conduct and Conduct and Culture Policy.

Legacy

  • The board acknowledged and congratulated the winners of the Community Sport Awards.
  • The board also confirmed the nominees for the Service to Snowsports Awards which will be announced shortly.

Community Engagement

  • Approved the Women of Winter Working Group Terms of Delegation and noted the current expression of interest process open to the community seeking members of the group.
