Snow Australia’s Women of Winter to Thrive with New Working Group
Published Fri 22 Nov 2024
Snow Australia is excited to announce the formation of our first Women of Winter Working Group, dedicated to advancing our mission to empower, connect, and support women in Snowsports.
The group will develop and implement a strategic plan designed to increase engagement, participation, and opportunities for women across all areas of Snowsports. This includes developing a clear vision and delivering on key initiatives to continue to foster inclusivity, gender equity and growth within our sport.
Rebecca Clark, Snow Australia’s Community Engagement Manager, said, "Women of Winter has been established to champion, connect and empower women in Snowsports. As the engagement in our program has evolved, Snow Australia recognises the need to review and refine the objectives and scope of Women of Winter. With strong support from the sport, industry, and community members, it is essential to take a collaborative approach to this review. The working group will include representatives with various industry areas, to ensure we meet the needs and requirements of our community.”
The working group is open to applicants from all genders, backgrounds, ages and levels of expertise, who have a passion for supporting women in Snowsports. Members of the working group will also need to support at least one activity per year.
Wendy Olsen, Snow Australia Event Manager stated, “We recognise our differences are our strengths, and a diverse and inclusive working group is fundamental to our success. We encourage all people of different genders, backgrounds and ages to apply. By doing so, we set the foundation to ensure we create a safe and inclusive environment to develop a strategy, that will engage, connect and support all women within our sport.”
Snow Australia is committed to providing a platform for women to thrive within Snowsports and looks forward to the input and insights of the Women of Winter Working Group in shaping the future of the program.
