What a great start to the season. Snow conditions are fabulous, and I hope you have had an opportunity to ride.

I am delighted that a Junior FIS National Snowboard Cross Series is coming this winter across multiple resorts.

It will be the first Junior FIS National Series to be held in Australia and provides an ideal development opportunity for the next generation of snowboard cross athletes. The dates and details are below:

Registration links to the Mt. Buller, Hotham and Perisher dates will be done so through the resorts and available soon.

Congratulations to 2-time Winter Olympian Belle Brockhoff who has been granted an education scholarship by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). The AIS continues supporting athletes to be successful in sport, education and life, awarding more than $100,000 in education scholarships to another 41 athletes from 19 sports and 19 tertiary institutions.

A reminder that 2022 Snow Australia Memberships are now open – Please register so you can participate in any Snow Australia opportunities, as well as to be eligible to compete, get your Snowracer insurance, FIS membership and more.

The Snowboard Racing Event Calendar is now live on the SB page on the Snow Australia website. This includes all events schedule for the Australian winter including the upcoming ANC’s being held in Hotham.

The National Junior working group have met twice in the last month to discuss a range of potential initiatives to increase participation in SBX and Alpine SB with further discussions to occur over the coming months.

Don’t forget that there will be a community mixer to be held on Saturday 2 July 2022 at 5.30pm at the Jindabyne Bowling Club. This is where local athletes, parents, coaches and the like can come together socially and to discuss what is in store for the season ahead.

Happy Riding!
