SSA Futures dates Announced

Dates and locations for Ski and Snowboard Australia’s athlete talent identification program “SSA Futures” have been released for the 2018 season.

Held across four different resorts in New South Wales and Victoria, SSA Futures aims to introduce athletes to the elite pathway.

Now in its 8th year, SSA Futures also educates participants about expectations around their development in the sport and provides athletes superior technical coaching via dedicated facilities.

SSA is committed to ensuring the pathway to elite snow sports is clear and consistent across the country.

The first event as part of SSA Futures will be Freestyle Acro Sessions at Thredbo Resort across two weekends starting July 12-13.

This specific session is designed to offer and encourage athletes across all freestyle and snowboard disciplines the opportunity to develop their acrobatic skills, aerial and body awareness.

Athletes selected to attend these sessions will be coordinated by experienced international snowboard and gymnastics coach David Parr, with assistance from SSA Park & Pipe Technical coaches Ryan Tiene (snowboard) and Leon Tarbotton (freeski).

Registrations are now open for the first two Freestyle Acro Sessions, with event registration for all other programs coming soon.

All five on snow Futures programs will lead into competition events, including the Junior Nationals at Perisher following the Moguls TIP Futures program.
