SSA Weekend Watch | 21 February

A host of Australian ski and snowboard riders are in action over the next few days across the globe, so check out which athletes will be competing this weekend and read more below.

FIS ALPINE JUNIOR WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS

Young gun Madison Hoffman kick started Australia's involvement in the 2019 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships at Val di Fassa, Italy on Tuesday.

Unfortunately since then Hoffman has sustained a knee injury after her Giant Slalom race and will be unable to compete in the rest of the event as she travels back to USA for an assessment - SSA wishes Madi a speedy recovery.

Aussie teammate Louis Muhlen-Schulte will begin his individual campaign when he competes in the Super G later today and in the Alpine Combined event on Saturday.

FIS NORDIC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Freestyle Sprint takes place today and will see six Aussie athletes in action – Jessica Yeaton, Callum Watson, Katerina Paul, Phillip Bellingham, Mark Pollock and Seve de Campo.

Also keep an eye out for Friday’s Skiathlon events and the Team Sprint Classic on Sunday, which could potentially showcase some of Australia’s best.

FIS AERIALS WORLD CUP

A quartet of Aussie stars will be competing against the world’s best during the FIS Aerials World Cup this weekend in Minsk, Belarus.

FIS FREESTYLE MOGULS WORLD CUP

A handful of Aussie hopefuls participate in FIS Moguls World Cup this weekend at Tazawako, Japan.

The featured athletes include recent World Championship silver medallists Matt Graham and Jakara Anthony as well as Britt Cox, Brodie Summers, Taylah O'Neill, Claudia Gueli, Sophie Ash, James Matheson, Cooper Woods-Topalovic and Rohan Chapman-Davies.
