Australian ski and snowboard riders are still on the slopes as the northern hemisphere winter season winds down for 2018/19.
Our Paralympians take centre stage with Melissa Perrine chasing a World Cup title and three Aussie Para Snowboarders warming up for their World Championships. Read on for more information and how you can get behind them!
PERRINE AT PARA ALPINE WORLD CUP FINALS
Prior to the start of the Para Alpine World Cup Finals in Morzine, France, Para Alpine skier Melissa Perrine and sighted guide Bobbi Kelly were just 20 points behind Great Britain’s Menna Fitzpatrick for the women’s vision impaired title.
Unfortunately during the first Slalom race in France, Perrine suffered an injury preventing her from competing in the last Slalom event of the season and also rules her out of overall World Cup title contention for the Women's Vision Impaired discipline.
Last week, Perrine and Kelly did secure the Women's Vision Impaired Giant Slalom Globe.
PARA SNOWBOARD WORLD CHAMPS ALMOST HERE
Three Aussie Para Snowboarders with a wealth of experience are putting their final preparations together for the 2019 World Para Snowboard World Championships in Pyha, Finland beginning 26 March.
Across five days, Paralympians Ben Tudhope, Simon Patmore and Sean Pollard will compete in the Banked Slalom and Snowboard Cross races.
Recently, Ben Tudhope and Simon Patmore were named on World Para Snowboard's 'Ones to Watch' list for the major event.
