The Aussies are flying high after a weekend of outstanding results. Jakara Anthony notched up here first career World Cup gold medal, Scotty James continued his winning ways and there was plenty more action from Aussies on snow around the world.

ANTHONY CLAIMS FIRST WORLD CUP CAREER GOLD

Australian mogul skier Jakara Anthony has claimed her first ever World Cup gold medal at the Lake Placid World Cup tour event.

The 20-year-old set one of the fastest times of the day while also landing both of her tricks to top the leader board with 78.76, after qualifying through to the final in fourth position.

Anthony, who finished fourth at her Olympics debut at PyeonChang in 2018, currently sits third overall in the FIS Freestlye Women's World Cup overall standings.

JAMES GOES MASSIVE AT LAAX HALFPIPE WORLD CUP

The best halfpipe riders in the world gathered at what is perhaps the best halfpipe in the world for an evening showdown that saw PyeongChang bronze medallist Scotty James reign supreme.

The 24-year-old put down what must be the run of the year up to this point in his first turn in the final. Kicking things off with an insanely difficult switch backside 1080 indy, he proceeded to launch a backside 1080 mute, frontside 1080 tailgrab, cab double 1080 mute, and a frontside double 1260 stalefish, with all five hits consistently at five metres out of the pipe, or higher.

Scoring a massive 95.75 earnt James his first victory at Laax, and his second World Cup win of the season. Read more here.

Fellow Aussie rider Kent Callister picked up 9th place in Switzerland for his efforts on the world renowned pipe.

Four Australian ladies competed in the FIS Freestyle Lake Placid Aerials World Cup in America.

PARA ALPINE

PyeongChang Paralympics bronze medallist Melissa Perrine has sent an ominous warning to her competitiors from Zagreb, Croatia after she finished second and third respectively in the two Para Alpine World Cup Slalom races held in the region.

TWO SKI CROSS RACES FOR KENNEDY-SIM IN SWEDISH WORLD CUP

Sami Kennedy-Sim improved across both her FIS Ski Cross World Cup races in Sweden during the weekend.
