Scotty James continued his winning ways, two well-known individuals within Australian snowsports were recognised in Australia Day honours and Jakara Anthony stepped onto the podium again. All this and more in the week leading up to the 2019 FIS Freestyle, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships.

SCOTTY JAMES UNSTOPPABLE

There's no stopping Australia's Scotty James after he won his fourth straight gold medal at X Games in Aspen, stamping his name as one the of the world’s best snowboarders.

The 24-year-old took out his second X Games superpipe gold in three years after claiming the title in 2017.

Even a training mishap couldn’t stop James from top spot, after breaking his snowboard before the tournament began he executed several difficult tricks including a backside double 1260 and a switch backside 1080 to score a run-high 94 points.

2019 PARA ALPINE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS MOVE TO ITALY

Competitors have travelled to Para Alpine World Championships co-host city Sella Nevea, Italy for the speed events.

The Men’s and Women’s Downhill races scheduled to take place today have been pushed back to Wednesday due to snow issues.

ANTHONY PODIUMS AGAIN FOR MOGULS WORLD CUP TOUR

After winning at Lake Placid last week, Jakara Anthony has finished second at Mt Tremblant, losing to race winner by a margin of 0.43 points.

This result continues Anthony’s strong season, claiming her third 2018/19 podium, while working her way into the big final at every competition so far.

KENNEDY-SIM GETS TO SKI CROSS QUARTER FINALS

Aussie Sami Kennedy-Sim has reached the quarter finals at the FIS Ski Cross World Cup in Blue Mountain (Canada) and finished in 12th place.

SMALL COMPETES IN ALPINE WORLD CUP AT GERMANY

Greta Small lined up in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany for the FIS Alpine World Cup action. As part of a large pack, Small finished 40th in the Ladies Super G tour event.
