PEEL GETS FIRST GOLD MEDAL SINCE 2012

Australia's 29-year-old veteran aerialist Laura Peel has grabbed her first FIS Freestyle World Cup gold medal since 2012 over the weekend with her performance in China at Shimao Lotus Mountain Resort.

She stepped things up in the final phase of the competition as she flawlessly executed her back full, double full. Peel received a score of 96.58 points for her jump, well clear of her competitors, handing her the win.

“I couldn’t be happier with how today went! We had some really tricky conditions with the temperature in double digits, and some swirling winds.

"I'm very grateful to my coaches for getting my speed right on all my jumps and super stoked I was able to put all my jumps down,” she said.
