The Interschools Diaries by Mia Rajak

I was really excited when I heard that they were rescheduling Interschools this year and there was still a chance it would happen. I got my hopes up, as being part of the event is something I was looking forward to. Unfortunately the event got cancelled, so we’ll have to wait until 2021.
I find the whole social aspect of the event just amazing. The environment is good and you get to interact with other schools and meet new people.
I participate in Ski Cross and Slalom events, but I am not really a competitive skier so I love that social aspect of Interschools the most.
I’ve only been competing since 2018 and I’ve really enjoyed it so far. Going to Mt Buller last year was great as I love exploring a new area and skiing somewhere different.
I also loved competing in a team, as we were all really supportive of each other and it helped me with building group skills, learning how to work with other people and how to work as one.
So if you’ve never tried Interschools, just go for it. It’s a good opportunity while you’re in school. The idea might be scary at the beginning, but you can’t fail. Just focus on trying new things and enjoy yourself!
