The third edition of the Games will be held from 9-20 January 2020, welcoming more than 1,800 athletes from 70+ nations aged between 15-18. They’ll participate in eight sports, 16 disciplines and 81 events.

The Youth Olympic Winter Games is a unique and unforgettable experience for emerging athletes with many using the event to launch the next phase of their career.

Two-time Alpine Olympian Greta Small became one of Australia's first ever Winter Youth Olympians when she competed at the inaugural event in Innsbruck in 2012.

Using the experience from the competition, Small went on to compete at the Sochi 2014 Games.

“I earned so much experience that helped me for Sochi, I can say that I wouldn’t have performed as well at Sochi had I not gone to YOG,” Small said.

"Definitely eye-opening for my experience in terms of my career. I learnt so much at that Games,” she said.
