5. Can I book on arrival?

Yes, if there is space in a session, our friendly staff can assist you at the NSTC Club House with membership and booking.

6. Will i Get wet? what should i wear?

Yes you will get wet!  We use water to lubricate the run in and landing surface.  This is needed to provide a smooth and slick landing.  We recomend you wear older winter outerwear, or rain overpants and thin MTB style/gardening gloves. Eye protection is optional, both goggles and sunglasses are approved.

Please bring a change of clothes for after your session.   We have a warm room and private change rooms in the clubhouse to warm up if needed and get changed after your session.

7. What is the minimum skill/age to attend a Park Jump session?

As long as you can confidently ski or snowboard on snow to an intermediate level (parallel on skis, linking turns on a snowboard), are comfortable with speed, and showing good edge control, you can jump in commiunity sessions.

This ability will be assessed during your Intro to Plastics session prior to the first jump session.

Riding on the plastic in-run surface is very similar to snow but can take a few runs to get used to.  You are more than welcome to do as many 'speed-check' runs as needed to enable you to feel comfortable to hit the jump.

While there is no age limit, we recomend age 6 and above AND at least 40kg, this will enable enough speed to safely clear the jump.

8. What will i learn in the Intro to Plastic sessions?

Intro to Plastic sessions will introduce you to the facilities, how to safely ride on the surface, land on the bag and assess your sking/riding ability.

During the Intro to Plastic sessions you will have the opportunity to have several runs down the in-run to gague speed for the jump.  You are welcome to have as many 'speed-check' runs as needed to enable you to feel comfortable to hit the jump

Our staff will assist you as required, and let you know if you are ready to hit the jump for the first time.  After you have completed an Intro to Plastic session, your accreditation will be upgraded to Small Jump for all further sessions.

If you then wish to use the Medium Jump, please talk with NSTC staff who will assist you to assess your ability to use the Medium Jump and advise accordingly.

Intro to Plastic sessions ARE NOT learn to ski and ride lessons.

9. Can i hit the small jump from the medium take-off tower.

Yes.  Please first talk to the NSTC staff about using the Medium take-off for the Small Jump.

10. Can I use the High Performance jump?

Yes, but there are conditions:

  • You must complete one full 2 hour session on the Large Jump and show competency in A.T.M.L. (Approach, Take-off, Maneuver, Landing) through the jump phases.  All accreditations must be approved by a NSTC staff member.
  • You must be a financial member

11. Waxing skis and boards...

A freshly waxed base will help with speed and control on the run-in surface.  We recommend the use of Lanky Bear Dry Slope wax which has been specifically formulated for best performance on the NSTC run-in surface.  For more information on Lanky Bear wax please visit lankybear.com

Lanky Bear Dry Slope wax is available for purcase at the NSTC Clubhouse for $35.

For best performance, we recommend waxing prior to arrival, on a clean, warm and dry base. Liberally apply wax with a waxing iron (hot wax) without scraping off excess.

NSTC staff can assist with application on site at their dicression. Please ask on arrival. The NSTC Waxing room is not to be used by public.

11. Detuning Edges...

Skiing and riding on the plastic run-in surface does not require a sharp edge, as skiing on snow does.   Additionally, having a sharp or burred edge can damage the Airbag. Therefore, we recommend detuning your equipment edges prior to arrival.  NSTC staff will inspect all equipment upon arrival and detune and/or deburr as necessary.

Cracked or split edges will damage the Airbag and will not be allowed for use within the facility.

12. Are spectators allowed at NSTCPark sessions?

Yes! Spectators are very welcome to enjoy an NSTC Park session free of charge during community sessions.

Can I bring friends and family to watch?
