Level 1 Fundamentals Coach Accreditation
Snow Australia’s Level 1 coach accreditation process involves the completion of both internal Snow Australia and external online courses, as well as face-to-face practical sessions and coaching experience.
The majority of the required eLearning courses are available on the Snow Academy, including the following:
- Snow Australia's Introduction to Coaching course
- Snow Australia's discipline Coach Fundamentals courses:
- Alpine Fundamentals
- Freestyle Fundamentals
- Snowboard Fundamentals - The Australian Sports Commission Community Coaching Essential Skills course
- The Play By The Rules Child Protection course
These eLearning courses are external:
- Sport Integrity Australia's Coaches Course
- Sport Integrity Australia's Anti-Doping Fundamentals and Annual Update
In addition, accredited Snow Australia coaches must be current members, possess current Working With Children Checks (or other state equivalent), and have current 1st Aid qualifications. For the Alpine, Freestyle and Snowboard disciplines, APSI Instructor qualifications are also a pre-requisite.

Fundamentals Practical Workshops
Snow Australia's discipline specific Practical Coach Workshops include the following:
- Alpine 1-day On-Snow
- Cross Country 1/2-day Dryland & 1-day On-Snow
- Freestyle 1-day On-Snow
- Snowboard Racing 1-day On-Snow
- Snowboard Park & Pipe 1/2-day On-Snow

Most workshops are run through resort snowsports schools. Before attending a practical workshop, participants must:
- Complete the Snow Australia Coach Fundamentals eLearning courses
- Have an APSI Level 2 Qualification or otherwise be approved by Snow Australia staff
- Be active members of Snow Australia for 2023.
