Nomination & Identification Process

The Emerging Talent Program is inclusive of all Snow Australia Pathway Disciplines. Pathway program providers are made aware of the nomination process and requirements by the Snow Australia Talent Manager each year prior to the domestic season.

Annual Intake Timeline and Process

  • Nomination period is during March and April. Pathway Program Providers are made aware of the nomination process by the Snow Australia Talent Manager. 
  • All nominations are reviewed in individual discipline meetings by the ETP Working Capability Group consisting of relevant Snow Australia Staff, Pathway Coaches and Discipline Committee members.  
  • Announcements are made during the month of May.
  • Emerging Talent Program places are for 12 months, with athletes required to be re-nominated on an annual basis. 

Nominations may be submitted by:

  • Pathway Club Coach/Director
  • National Team Development Coach / Head Coach 
  • National Discipline Committee Member 
  • Snow Australia Talent, Health & Performance Coordinator 
  • Snow Australia Performance Pathway & Program Manager

Identification Criteria

Selections will be based on:

  • An individual athlete’s profile correlated with their discipline FTEM Pathway Framework, capturing data in the following categories:
    • Snow Skills / Technical Skills (discipline specific)
    • Psychological Skills
    • Physical Capability 
    • Performance (past, present, future potential)
    • Intangible Qualities
