Turn & Burn (TAB)

Turn & Burn have one overarching goal: Make young Australians skiers and snowboarders better.

Operating alongside Thredbo Mountain Academy in the Southern Winter and in Italy, Whistler for the Northern winter, Turn & Burn (TAB) offers a year-round development program for Freeskiers and Snowboarders. Proudly focused on elevating Australian snowsports athletes, TAB was founded by Australian snowboarder Ryan Tiene. Initially catering to athletes in Snowboard Park and Pipe, TAB expanded its reach to include opportunities for Snowboard Cross athletes, thanks to the involvement of snowboarding legend Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin.

In 2023, Leon Tarbotton joined forces with Ryan, enabling TAB to provide training and competition opportunities to Freeski athletes as well.

TAB fosters innovation, offering athletes opportunities for growth both on and off the snow. Their successful Readiness Camps bring athletes together to collaborate, develop resilience, and cultivate a growth mindset. Utilising the airbag and acrobatic centers at the National Snowsports Training Centre, TAB ensures a focused progression of skills from the safety of the airbag and trampoline to the snow.

With a blend of Australian and international coaches deeply passionate about snowsports, TAB aims to establish meaningful connections with their athletes and provide comprehensive insights into the performance journey. Coaches are active members of the Snow Australia coach academy, consistently collaborating to elevate the sport's standards.
