The Snow Academy on the Australian Sport Learning Centre houses online coach accreditation courses and certifications developed by Snow Australia, alomgside sport-wide educational content developed by the Australian Sports Commission
Currently featured on the Snow Academy is the Snow Australia Level 1 Fundamentals Coach Accreditation Courses for new and developing coaches. To become accredited, learners must complete a series of eLearning courses housed on the Snow Academy, along with practical on snow workshops.
Already accredited coaches can complete Australian Sports Commission Coach Masterclasses and complete accreditation courses when they expire.
To access the Snow Academy to complete courses, learners must be an active member of Snow Australia for 2023.

Level 1 Fundamentals Coach Accreditation
Aimed at instructors, athletes, and other prospective winter sport coaches beginning their coaching journey, the accreditation process has four main steps:
Learners are to first complete the Introduction to Coaching online course followed by at least one discipline course.
Discipline courses include Alpine, Freestyle, and Snowboard.
The Cross Country Skiing e-Learning course is not yet available.
For Level 1 Coach Accreditation, the following external eLearning courses must be completed. These courses are provided by external providers and can be completed at any time.
The following courses can be completed on the Snow Academy:
- Community Coaching Essential Skills
- PBTR - Child Protection and Safeguarding
The following course must be completed on the Sport Integrity Australia's eLearning website.

Once completed please forward your certificate or evidence of completion to coaching@snow.org.au to be included with your assessment.
Snow Australia's Fundamentals 2 Practical Workshops involve:
- Alpine - 1 day on-snow
- Cross Country - 1 day on-snow and 1/2 day dryland training
- Freestyle - 1 day on-snow
- Snowboard - 1 day Snowboard Racing and 1/2 day Park & Pipe on-snow
Workshops are run through resort snowsports schools. Before attending a practical workshop, participants must:
- Complete the Snow Australia Fundamentals Level 1 eLearning courses
- Have an APSI Level 2 Qualification
- Be an active member of Snow Australia for 2023.

Each coach must gain practical coaching experience.
This includes 20 hours of practical coaching and 10 hours of shadow coaching
APSI Instructor qualifications are a prerequisite for the Alpine, Freestyle, and Snowboard disciplines.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for some or all components of the Snow Australia Fundamentals course may be given if you are able to supply sufficient evidence of the relevant required competencies.
In addition to completing the above steps and meeting the prerequisites, accredited Snow Australia coaches must be current members, possess current Working With Children Checks (or state equivalent), and have current First Aid qualifications.
