Mt Buller Race Club (MBRC)

The Mt Buller Race Club (MBRC) was formed in 1987 to provide young ski racers with the opportunity to train in a specialised program at Mt Buller. Today, we provide a broad range of quality programs and opportunities for skiers and snowboarders in alpine racing, boardercross and skiercross as well as a master’s program.

MBRC is an independent, non-profit organisation incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act and fully aligns itself with Snow Australia and the athlete pathway and works extremely closely with its stakeholders, Buller Ski lifts and the Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management Board. Our Vision to be “The best ski and snowboard club in the nation '' is supported by an elected committee and a full-time Program Director,  Administration Manager and Head Ski Cross Coach with a seasonally employed Head Snowboard coach and coaching team.

MBRC offers programs during the Australian and northern hemisphere winter and spring seasons as well as physical training in the offseason. During the Australian season, athletes have the opportunity to participate in weekend and full-time race training programs for skiers and snowboarders starting in the Victorian July school holidays and concluding at the end of Term 3 school holidays in September along with other additional training opportunities outside of the regular programs. Weekend athletes train during the two weeks of the July school holidays, and on each weekend during Term 3. Full-time athletes live at Mt Buller during Term 3, train during the July school holidays, and for six days per week during Term 3. MBRC, with the support of the Race and events department, hosts club races at Mt Buller and also participates in state and national level ski and snowboard races including interschools and Snow Australia sanctioned races.

Hotham Snowboard Inc (HSi)

HSI was established in 2013. HSI is a Snow Australia pathway Club and is focused on providing athletes the opportunity to develop all disciplines of snowboarding, with the potential to work with our “elite SBX” team to focus purely on SBX from 14 onwards.

Mt Hotham is a fantastic family driven resort. It provides an abundance of natural training facilities with steep runs, banks and berms. These natural features combined with an SBX track and park provide a playground for riders to work on all aspects of their skills. Hotham hosts Australia’s ANC FIS races, with this brings Australia best riders and international athletes for our club to mix with and learn from.

Athletes who are more inclined to freestyle have access to a host of events held on weekends to show case the tricks they have been working on. Training consists of park time and free riding to develop all aspects of tricks and freestyle riding.

2021 Is a very exciting year from the club with a new head coach leading the program in a new-found direction. Jackson Holtham has now taken on the head coach and director role for the winter and is excited to bring his vision and the vision of Snow Australia together to create the best possible space for athletes to reach their full potential. You can view all our programs on our website. www.hothamsnowboarders.com.au.

Mt Hotham is an incredible resort, families can view racing and events easily with living and amenity all at the top of snow-covered peaks and in nearby dinner plain. HSI is a community driven program, we believe that team work is the core to a strong club and we endeavor to make every rider and their family feel as welcome as possible.
