Snow Academy is Snow Australia's online education hub providing athletes, coach's, officials and members of the snowsports community with access to specialised courses, accreditations and certifications.

New for 2024, all current Snow Australia members and participants (those with an active SnowID) can access Snow Academy directly via their Snow Australia account. Simply login to your account here or if you are yet to renew or have not joined Snow Australia you can do so here.

Snow Academy Login

If you are already logged in to your Snow Australia account, follow the 'Snow Academy' button to access new and completed courses.

1. Active SnowID

Make sure you have an active SnowID (Snow Australia Membership) for 2024.

Join or Renew with Snow Australia

2. Login

Log into your Snow Australia account via the Member Login at the top of the website or via the top menu if on a mobile.

3. Access Snow Academy

Once logged in you should see the Snow Academy button. Simply click this to be taken to your Snow Academy account.

Access to the Snow Academy is only available to those with an active SnowID. You will be required to activate your SnowID annually either by:

  • Registering for FREE as a Snowracer or Snowracer Volunteer
  • Joining Snow Australia as a financial member (supporter, competitor, coach, official etc)

WHAT COURSES ARE AVAILABLE ON THE SNOW ACADEMY?

Snow Australia’s Coaching Level 1 Fundamentals Accreditation consists of e-Learning courses and practical workshops designed for instructors, ex-athletes, and other prospective winter sport coaches beginning their coaching journey.

The online coaching courses that make up the coach accreditation process can be completed on the Snow Academy.

You will need to have a current financial Snow Australia Membership to access the coaching accreditation courses on the Snow Academy.

You can complete the following courses on the Snow Academy:

  • Introduction to Coaching
  • Discipline Modules - Alpine / Snowboard / Freestyle
  • ASC Community Coach Essential Skills
  • SIA Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction

The Sport Integrity Australia courses, Anti-Doping Fundamentals and Coaches Course, that make up the accreditaion process need to be completed through the Sport Integrity Australia e-Learning website, however, you will be able to upload course completion certificates can be uploaded in the Snow Academy for the accreditation process. 

The Coach Academy Podcast, hosted by Chip Richards, features interviews with coaches and sport leaders providing an insight into their journey and coaching values. All episodes are available on the Snow Academy.

The Snow Australia Coach Academy Live Session Recordings. Facilitated by Chip Richards, live sessions are held for the coaching cohort with coaching specific topics explored and discussed. 

The Coach Academy is a coach development program for development coaches across the different winter disciplines. 

Australian Sports Commission Community Coaching Essential Skills and Masterclasses can be undertaken on the Snow Academy. These courses have been developed for community level courses. 

 

You can complete the Sport Integrity Australia Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction e-Learning course, which is a mandatory or recommended course for many coaches, officials, administrators, and commitee members. 

OWIA Performance Psychology Mindset Level Up Program modules build on Sport Psychology knowledge and can be undertaken by all level of athletes. 

There 5 courses you can take cover topics Intensity Regulation, Concentration, Confidence, Motivation and Mindset, and Self-Regulation

Each Ground Level course takes 20-30 minutes to complete, plus optional comprehensive summary videos that build your knowledge of the topic and provide examples of practical tools to use and takeaways for your toolbox to achieve peak performance.

The Athlete Mini Modules provide an introduction to sport science topics of nutrition, performance psychology, performance recovery, and physical conditioning. Each module takes 15-20 minutes to complete.

The FIS Points for Alpine and Ski Cross Course is an interactive way to help with your understanding of the FIS Points system. This course is recommended for first-year FIS athletes and their supporters. It is suitable to be taken by athletes, parents, and coaches. The FIS points system can often be quite confusing and daunting to understand for parents and competitors as they get ready to enter their first year of FIS competition.

SnowReady the 8 part video ski and snowboard fitness program aimed at individuals of all ages and abilities.

 

The Interschools Officials Training Course provides entry-level officials the critical information to be an effective Interschools official.The course, suitable for school coordinators, officials, and coaches, includes additional information about the Interschools Championships to allow learners to better understand the rules, role, and management of the event.

The Alpine Level 1 Officials Course is suitable to be undertaken by those involved in Club Races, Snow Australia Children’s Carnival, FIS Races, and Australia New Zealand Cup (ANC). This course is the first step in your introduction to the fascinating and rewarding role of the Alpine Official.

The Australian Sports Commission Community Officiating Essential Skills Course provides a modern approach to officials' education, focusing on creating positive sporting environments for everyone involved.
