Dear Snowboard Community,
The Northern Season is officially underway, bringing an exciting wave of action to the snowboard world.
In late November, the National SBX team competed in Pitztal, Austria, for the first European Cup of the season. Australia had eight athletes competing in this event, with Mia Clift leading the women’s competition with a strong third-place finish.
On the men’s side Adam Lambert delivered an impressive performance, securing seventh place. Unfortunately the second day of the European Cup was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
The Para Snowboard team then swung unto action in Landgraaf with Ben Tudhope scoring two World Cup silvers, Amanda Reid taking a European Cup victory, Aaron McCarthy made a solid international debut while it was great to see Sean Pollard back on the world stage.
Millie Bongiorno and Harvey Edmanson opened their World Cup of the season in Mylin and remain in China for this weekend's racing in Yanqing. Following that, they will head to Europe to compete in Carezza, Italy, on December 12 and Cortina d’ Ampezzo, Italy, on December 14.
The SBX Team will also be making their debut in the 2024-25 World Cup season in Cervinia on December 13-14. We wish all of our athletes the best of luck as they continue to showcase their skills on the international stage.
For those considering competing overseas this Northern winter, please submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) to entries@snow.org.au. Before submitting, make sure that you have the appropriate membership and insurance in place. More information can be found below.
