Membership of Snow Australia supports Australian Alpine Skiing athletes and programs, it takes us all!

Dear Alpine Members (past and present),

Notwithstanding some of the lingering uncertainties caused by the pandemic the season is now upon us, I hope everyone is excited, I know I am! For many this will mark the return to skiing after an entire year off due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I think this is a great time for us all to remember what keeps us coming back each year for more, and I hope the answer for most is FUN!

This is a time to reconnect with friends and coaches and enjoy all that the mountains have on offer. It’s a time to embrace challenge and work hard toward mastering the whole mountain, top to bottom, on and off-piste, regardless of the conditions. A chance to push yourselves in training every day, increase your skill and your desire to go fast. Remember, it takes a GREAT skier to be a FAST ski racer!

I look forward this season to visiting and working with all the clubs, athletes, coaches, and parents and sharing some turns with you along the way!

Snow Australia is excited to confirm the Alpine In-Club Development Camp and Skills Assessment Program for the 2021 season. The program will be delivered to each Affiliated Alpine Club between the 29 June and 25 July, with some dates still to be confirmed. 

The detailed program structure and schedule will be individually designed following a consultation between Snow Australia Alpine Director Shawn Fleming and the Club Program Director/Head Coach, to specifically meet each club's needs.

The In-Club Development Camp and Skills Assessment is the evolution of the previous one-day National Skills Assessment. This new format is designed to better support athlete development, integrate the national skills assessment into daily training environments and ultimately improve athletes’ long-term outcomes and success.

Snow Australia National Alpine Committee (NAC) is pleased to announce the 2021/22 National Alpine Ski Team (NAST).
 
The team is made up of 15 athletes across alpine and ski cross disciplines, with nine male and six female athletes. Snow Australia Alpine Director Shawn Fleming said that the NAC unanimously decided that all NAST athletes from the previous season would remain named for 2021/22.

Membership structure simplified and fees reduced for 2021

A simplified membership structure and a reduction in cost to athlete families are amongst the changes introduced to various Alpine categories.

By reducing and better aligning our membership pricing structure with other disciplines within our sport, the NAC hope to minimise barriers to Alpine and Ski Cross disciplines within our Community and Clubs.

Snow Australia has now confirmed the 2021 National Alpine Calendar.

We thank the community for its patience and understanding during this difficult time and thank the Clubs and Resorts for their continued support.

Snow Australia Action Sports Training is a custom-built training facility in Jindabyne, specially designed to provide the best acrobatic training for a large variety of action sports.

Gymnastics and Trampolining, or Acrobatic Training, provide a foundation that very few activities can. Aside from being an incredibly fun and rewarding sport in its own right, the combination of coordination, strength, flexibility, and body awareness that you will develop are all fundamental skills required to improve in any action sports.

Action Sports Training offer classes for all ages, disciplines and ability levels including Children from 4 years up. As an Alpine financial member, you can book into any classes without paying any additional fees.
