Women of Winter - Working Group - Call for Expressions of Interest
Purpose
The Women of Winter (WoW) - Working Group will create and implement a strategic plan to engage, connect and support women in snowsports. This includes defining a clear vision and key initiatives to increase participation, opportunities and engagement across all snowsport-related activities.
Initiatives may include, but are not limited to:
- Develop initiatives to raise awareness and encourage involvement in snowsports among women of all backgrounds
- Organise regular networking events that provide opportunities for women in the snowsports community to connect, share experiences, and build professional relationships
- Establish partnerships with likeminded groups and organisations to promote women in the snowsports industry and collaborate on initiatives, workshops and events to leverage resources and expand outreach.
Who can be involved?
The Women of Winter program welcomes applicants from all genders, cultures, backgrounds, ages and expertise from the broader snowsports community and beyond. The only pre-requisite is that participants must be at least 16 years old.
We are looking for people who are passionate about supporting women in snowsports with experience in, but not limited to:
- women engagement and development
- inclusion and diversity
- resorts / clubs / schools / regional programs
- other peak bodies, groups or partners
- volunteer management / engagement
- coaching / instructing / officiating / judging
- athlete or participant: current or retired
- event management
- marketing / journalism
- education and training
- government bodies or agencies
- passionate about supporting women in snowsports, and are eager to gain experience on a committee

Working Group Requirements

Working Group Expectations include:
- Meetings will be held quarterly
- Smaller groups may be formed to meet more regularly to deliver specific projects
- Members will be required to assist with a minimum of one Women of Winter activity per year.
Indicative Timeline
- Monday 16 December 2024 - Closing date for Expression of Interest
- January 2025 - Review of Expression of Interest
- February 2025 - Announcement of the WoW - Working Group
